KARACHI: The Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique Friday said that any politics of shutting down the cities would not work and destined to fail.
Speaking at the Meet the Press Programme of Karachi Press Club he pointed out that those who, in the past, practiced the politics of shutting Karachi were divided in to groups.
The Minister asked PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari not to try to copy Imran Khan as in such a case he would attain no success.
Regarding Thursday’s collision of trains near Karachi, he stated that the mishap was owing to human error as according to initial investigation, the signals and other system was functioning correctly.
He said that the railways’ traffic system has now been restored up to 80 percent.
The Minister was of the view that train accidents also occur in other country as a result of human errors. He also criticised the statements of chairman of PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zaradri.
Khawaja Saad Rafique said that he acknowledged the sacrifices of PPP for the cause of democracy. He said that Bilawal Bhutto should not try to teach us a lesson about democracy and added that `we remember the Federal Security Force of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’.
The Minister said that though PML-N had differences with the PPP, the two parties had political as well. He pointed out that Karachi had been converted into a heap of garbage. Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that PTI’s `Dharna’ was a conspiracy against democracy.
