ISLAMABAD: Pakistan political leaders including former President Asif Ali Zardari, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and MQM chief Altaf Hussain Friday expressed grief and sorrow over loss of lives in a helicopter crash in Gilgit.
Ambassadors of Norway and Philippines Leif Larson and Domingo D Lucenario Jr, wives of Indonesian and Malaysian ambassadors died in crash.
Ambassador of Netherland Marcel De Vink and Poland Dr Andrzej Ananicz were injured in the accident.
In a message, former President said that he is shocked and grieved over the news of crash of helicopter carrying foreign diplomats. He prayed for the departed souls and early recovery on injured. He also condoled to the bereaved families for the tragedy.
Separately, PTI head Imran Khan said that he was saddened by the tragic Naltar helicopter crash killing diplomats, envoys’ wives and army pilots. “My condolences go to the families of those killed in the crash,” he said. MQM chief Altaf Hussain also expressed grief over irreparable loss in the crash.
