Karachi: The joint efforts by the Jamaat-e-Islami and Al-Khidmat Foundation on Friday led to the de-sealing of a street in Akhter Colony area, giving a relief to the residents.
Earlier, the street No 1 of Akhter Colony’s Sector C was sealed by the Mehmoodabad police on a wrong information provided by local UC chairman Nadeem Arian that a resident has contracted coronavirus.
Later, the JI and Al Khidmat officials inquired into the matter and found that a member of a family residing in Street No 1 had tested positive for Covid-19 in the United States and not in Pakistan.
They brought the matter into the notice of SHO Mehmoodabad Ejaz Khattak, who after varification de-sealed the street, providing relief to the locals.
