ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will lay the foundation stone of the Lahore-Karachi motorway on Saturday (December 19), Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab told the National Assembly here today.
The PM will inaugurate work on the Lahore-Multan section of the Lahore- Karachi motorway on Saturday and the National Highway Authority (NHA) has taken the necessary measures in this regards, he said.
Starting from Lahore, the Lahore-Multan section of the motorway will pass through Nankana, Sheikupura, Chichawatni and Khanewal and will end at Multan.
The state minister told lawmakers that the Lahore-Karachi motorway project will be completed in two and a half years and would cost Rs 680 billion to the national exchequer.
