DAVOS: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi says Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will highlight the critical situation in Occupied Kashmir during his meeting with the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of World Economic Forum in Davos on Thursday.

In an interview, he said if the situation in Occupied Kashmir is not addressed according to the wishes of its people, it would have far-reaching consequences.

Tariq Fatemi termed Kashmir a “flash point” which he said could turn into a very serious situation. He said the prime minister will seek UN’s role in addressing the long-standing dispute.

He regretted the “ethnic cleansing and genocide” of Kashmiris by the Indian occupational forces.
