HYDERABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that the prime minister should tell if he was not able to recover the missing persons, so that the whole nation should know.
Addressing the function in Hyderabad, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that we are not serving politics in service, we are serving in politics.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that there is a progress of demands between PPP and us. We are sitting in the federation with certain conditions.
He said that we are asking for offices only because we have the right. MQM does not need any preparation for elections.
Addressing the function, MQM Pakistan leader Wasim Akhtar said that till date we have not got the conditions to work. Our focus is not on power, ministries and governorship, priority is on solving problems.
Wasim Akhtar said that they will take back their lost seats in the next election.
Last week, MQM Pakistan had decided not to join the federal cabinet and to sit outside and support the broad-based government.
Talking to media, MQM Pakistan chief Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that his party had held detailed discussions with fellow leaders of the coalition government on forming the government.
He said that MQM Pakistan was more interested in implementing the promises made by the allies for the welfare of Karachi and other parts of the province.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that MQM Pakistan has decided not to join the federal cabinet and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been informed about this decision.
Last month, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, an ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Centre, has officially announced to leave Imran Khan-led government and join the opposition on the no-confidence motion.
At a press conference with the opposition leaders here on Thursday, MQM-P leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui announced his support to the opposition.
The press conference was presided over by MQM Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and on this occasion he said that today is a historic occasion.
Maqbool Siddiqui further said that our no-confidence motion with the joint opposition was not conditional on cooperation. I am announcing that in this change we will be with the opposition, he said.
On the occasion, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that what was said by MQM-P last night has been fulfilled to a great extent. The prime minister should resign even if he is selected as he has lost his numerical strength, he added.
