PM should prefer accountability instead of escaping: Sirajul Haq

QILLA SAIFULLAH: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq advised the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step forward for strict accountability instead of finding fleeing paths. He expressed his hopes that rulers will get place in Adiala Jail in near future.

Sirajul Haq was addressing a crowded public meeting held in Qila Saifullah district during his two-day visit to Balochistan province on Sunday. On the occasion, JI Balochistan Ameer, Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi has also addressed the participants gathered for ongoing campaign entitled “Corruption Free Pakistan”.

The JI Ameer said corruption risked security of Pakistan while corrupt rulers will not get a way out from accountability. He urged need of imposition of terrorism cases against corrupt elements besides pronouncement of strict punishments to root out corruption across the nation in order to secure future generations.

He said PM’s sons have already admitted existence of offshore companies exposed in Panama documents. He criticised the Premier over appealing taxes and bill clearances by the nationals when he was involved in transferring personal assets to save himself from paying taxes.

Siraj said Balochistan province has highest ratio of corruption as compare to other provinces where at least 400 corruption cases are under investigation. He said bigger names will be exposed in corruption bids if the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) started true accountability against the culprits.

He said approximately 2 crore childrens were deprived of education, millions were forced to spend their whole lives on roads due to corrupt gang of rulers. He added high-educated youths failed to get suitable jobs, whereas, nationals were deprived of pure drinking water. Sirajul Haq demanded youths to join the JI-led anti-corruption campaign to shatter statues of corruption into pieces.

While commenting over forthcoming version of Panama documents, Sirajul Haq said the leaked documents will expose names of more than 500 influential Pakistanis while mostly amongst the culprits were bureaucrats, feudal and investors. The culprits seized key positions in politics, democracy and economy sectors of Pakistan after Indo-Pak Partition, he added. Siraj said the corrupt elements set target to snatch basic rights of national like education, health and shelter.

The JI Ameer demanded all political parties to set up permanent system of accountability to kick out corrupt elements before going into the nation. He said nationals victimised by economic terrorism are much more in numbers as compare to persons targeted in armed terrorism. He appealed nationals to join JI’s nationwide campaign “Corruption Free Pakistan” to fight for rights of common man.
