SUKKUR: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of Sukkur Hyderabad Motorway here on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Sukkur to lay the foundation stone of M6 Motorway where Federal Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Federal Communications Minister Maulana Asad Mehmood, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, IT Minister Aminul Haq, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Sindh Chief Minister were also with him.
The Prime Minister along with Federal Ministers and Sindh Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the project.
According to NHA officials, an estimated cost of Rs3.07 trillion will be spent on the 306 km M6 project.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had demanded from the Afghan interim government to stop the incidents of unprovoked firing on the border.
In a statement on the social media website Twitter, the Prime Minister described the incident of killing many Pakistanis and injuring more than a dozen civilians due to unprovoked shelling and firing by the Afghan border forces on the Chaman border yesterday highly condemnable.
The prime minister said that the Afghan interim government should ensure that such incidents do not recur.
It should be noted that 5 civilians were martyred in Chaman city of Balochistan due to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing by Afghan border forces. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, the Afghan border forces fired unprovoked and indiscriminately with heavy weapons including artillery and mortars on the civilian population.
In the incident, 17 people were also injured due to unprovoked firing by the Afghan border forces, while the Pakistani border forces gave a strong response to the aggression but refrained from targeting innocent civilians in the area.
