PM reaches London, demands probe into mass killings in IHK

LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday reached London after conclusion of 71st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session which highlighted Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir besides strong demand for provision of self-determination right to Kashmiris.

PM Nawaz Sharif while talking to media on London airport said Pakistan played responsible role during the UNGA session. He said whole world was completely aware of Indian atrocities against Kashmiris in its occupied part which resulted killings of more than 108 citizens and hundreds were left seriously wounded. He demanded to probe into the mass killing in Indian held Kashmir.

PM Nawaz said that Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir dispute was registered in the United Nations (UN) while he has a limited time for delivering conclusive address in the UNGA session.

While commenting over Uri attack, he complained that the Indian government has always levelled baseless allegations on others but avoided to hold talks over atrocities by its own authorities. He said India has hurriedly levelled allegations against Pakistan before proper investigation into Uri attack.

PM said Uri attack could be a reaction of Indian state-terrorism in occupied Kashmir. He criticised the Indian government over fake allegations of anti-humanitarian crisis in Balochistan province. He added that few elements did not want to see a developed and prosper Balochistan. He said the government was busy in constructing best roads and airport in Balochistan province.

During his media interaction at London airport, PM Nawaz Sharif announced to increase development budget of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) besides more efforts for medical and infrastructure facilities.

PM Nawaz prayed for security of the mega economic project, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He said the Pakistan government is preparing for upcoming international session of SAARC countries and he expressed wishes for participation of all member countries.

The Pakistan Premier and chief of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) said that he has ordered his political workers for not creating any barricades into sit-in of political rival Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Raiwind. He clarified that PML-N workers always followed directions of their leadership.

However, PM Nawaz Sharif has refused to answer regarding question for extension of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif. He urged journalists to ask questions related to his last address in UNGA session. He praised efforts of Pakistan media and urged the sector to continue its efforts for highlighting positive picture of Pakistan.
