ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed that timely steps be taken to ensure supply of food items to the people at low prices during Ramazan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a review meeting on the availability and prices of essential commodities, especially wheat and sugar.

The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Senator Shibli Faraz and others.

The Finance Minister informed the meeting that the prices of onion, tomato and poultry have started declining in the light of the sensitive price index of the last seven weeks.

In the next few weeks, the prices of vegetable ghee will also start falling, he added.
