According to the statement, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for nominating him as the Chief Minister of Punjab and said that he would come upto his expectations.

It added that in a meeting with the prime minister, Pervaiz Elahi said that the PML-Q would fully cooperate with him as an ally and would serve the people together as an ally.

On the other hand, Chaudhry Shujaat is angry over Pervaiz Elahi’s decision to accept the post of Chief Minister and support the government. Shujaat has demanded the resignation of his National Assembly member Tariq Bashir Cheema.

PML-Q leader Tariq Bashir said he was with the people currently under the burden of inflation and not with Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, Pervaiz Elahi’s son Monis Elahi is still optimistic and says that he will convince Tariq Bashir Cheema.

It may be recalled that the PML-Q is an ally of the PTI government at the center which has five members in the National Assembly.

News is also circulating that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has reservations about the deal with the government and there are differences of opinion within the party.

The opposition has tabled a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly, which would require the support of 172 members of the National Assembly.
