BAKU: A Pakistani delegation led by Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Defence Production arrived here on Wednesday to attend an international defence exhibition.
The delegation was received by Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
Rana Tanveer Hussain on his arrival said he is pleased to visit this country to attend “ADEX 2016”, the 2nd Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition and mentioned the high level organization of the exhibition.
He stressed the firm and principal support of Pakistan to the fair position of Azerbaijan over the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov highly appreciated this position of Pakistan and noted that the planned visit of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan to Azerbaijan will make an important contribution to the development of bilateral relations.
At the meeting a high level development of bilateral political relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan was underlined and as in other fields, favorable opportunities for strengthening the cooperation in defence and military industry were mentioned.
Through joint efforts enhancement of cooperation in private sector, pharmacology, textile, agriculture and other fields, as well as the importance of increasing trade turnover was stressed.
