PM-led session concluded at Governor House Karachi

High-level meeting convened by Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been concluded at Governor House in Karachi.

PM directed authorities to apprehend the criminals earliest who were involved in bus attack targeting Ismaili community members. He added that law enforcing agencies should work in complete coordination to ensure peace in Karachi.

PM Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan foes were attempting again and again to disturb visible economic development in the country, however, Karachi is economic hub of the country and therefore, anything happening there assumes greater importance.

During the meeting, the Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar, Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali and chief secretary Sindh briefed the Prime Minister on the law and order situation in the city in the backdrop of this incident.

The meeting was attended by Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif , Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Corp Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, Secretary Interior, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar.

All participants unanimously condoled the killing of innocent people belonging to Ismaili community near Safora Goth area of Karachi and offered prayers for the departed souls.
