ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday lauded the efficient arrangements made by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Hajj directorate for facilitation of the pilgrims this year and directed for payment of four-month honorarium to the employees concerned.
During a meeting with Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf, Secretary Sohail Amir and Director General Hajj Sajid Yousufani who called on him at PM House, the prime minister appreciated the efforts of the employees of the ministry and the directorate.
He said serving the pilgrims was a source to seek Allah’s blessings and that they were lucky to have been bestowed by this opportunity.
The Prime Minister observed that Hajj arrangements were made more effectively and efficiently than those of the previous year and thanked the Saudi government for extending all out cooperation in this regard.
He also appreciated the standards of facilities provided to the pilgrims including residence, traveling and health.
Keeping in view the future needs of the pilgrims, the Prime Minister also approved the establishment of Hajj directorate in Madina Munawwara besides elevating the Hajj Directorate in Islamabad to Directorate General.
He hoped that next year, the Hajj arrangements would be more efficient comparing this year making it a role model for other ministries and departments.
