ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Saturday directed the Ministry of Water and Power to take all out urgent steps to address the power supply situation.

The PM called Secretary Water and Power Younus Dagha to the PM House and sought briefing on the load shedding situation in the country.

He was informed that there had been an unprecedented surge in power demand on the first day of Ramazan which necessitated some forced
load shedding.

The Secretary said that the situation could only be brought under control if the demand decreased.

It must be noted that several cities of Pakistan are bearing the brunt of unannounced load shedding and power cuts during the holy month of Ramadan.
