ISLAMABAD: Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday.

They discussed bilateral relations and the current regional situation.

This should be noted that Pakistan is looking for two major opportunities from Iran. Firstly, Pakistan wants to meet its energy demands by either getting gas directly from Iran through the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. Secondly, Pakistan needs the help of Iran to stabilise the regime of President Ashraf Ghani in Afghanistan.
