PM performs ground breaking of DI Khan-Hakla Motorway

DI KHAN: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday performed the ground breaking of Dera Ismail Khan-Hakla Motorway as part of the Western alignment of China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The impressive ground-breaking ceremony of DI Khan-Halka Motorway that was held Yarik area near D.I Khan under western corridor CPEC was attended besides others by JUIF Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, KP Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra Federal Minster for Housing, Opposition Leader in Khyber Pakthunkhwa Maulana Lutf ur Rehman and a large number of workers of PMLN and JUIF.

The people raised slogans such as ‘Qadam Bharao Nawaz Sharif Hum Tumharay Sath Hain,” in favour of Prime Minister. The people carrying the party flags of PMLN and JUF raised from their seats in respect of the Prime Minister and chanted full throated slogans in his favour. The people of DI Khan, Tank, South Waziristan Agency, Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts were very jubilant upon seeing the Prime Minister among them and thanked him for announcing scores of uplift projects for the development of DI Khan.

Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Shahid Ashraf Tarar briefed the Prime Minister on technical aspects of the said motorway project.

He told that total stretch of the motorway is 285 kilometers that would be completed within two years.  As per PC-1, the civil works of the project would cost Rs. 129.782 billion and its design consultant is M/s Nespak.

The motorway project comprises several bridges and interchanges that will pass through less developed areas.  The motorway will bring massive development in the less developed areas and enormous economic benefits for people besides creating new business and employment opportunities for masses.

With completion of western route of the CPEC, the less developed areas of Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Balochistan provinces would be largely benefited and pace of development would be expedited there.

Earlier, JUIF Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman presented tradition gift to the Prime Minister.
