ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that lack of trace and track system in FBR is causing loss.
Speaking at the cabinet meeting here on Monday, the prime minister said that billions of rupees were being lost due to non-payment of taxes. We are introducing trace and track system in FBR, he added.
He said that 40 per cent of cigarettes sold in Pakistan are not taxed. Only two cigarette companies pay 90 per cent tax.
Imran Khan said that due to non-collection of taxes, direct taxes have to be levied, which increases inflation. Tax evasion is taking place due to lack of automation, he added.
