Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired an important meeting with parliamentary leaders to hold discussions over Judicial Commission report.
Resolutions submitted against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted by political rivals Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) were also came under discussions in the meeting.
The resolutions sought de-seating of the PTI parliamentarians present in the Houses who remained absent from the National Assembly over 40 days.
Participants of the meeting include Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Minister of State for Telecommunication and Information Technology and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Irfan Siddiqui, opposition leader in the NA Syed Khursheed Shah, Siraj-ul-Haq, Fazl-ur-Rehman, Rasheed Gudial, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Ijaz-ul-Haq, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mushahid Hussain Syed.
Following recommendations in the meeting, PM constituted a four-member committee to convince MQM, JUI-F for withdrawal of resolutions that sought de-seating of PTI lawmakers.
The committee members include Ishaq Dar, Pervaiz Rasheed, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Irfan Siddiqui.
While talking to journalists, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid said all political parties lauded report of the Judicial Commission (JC) while a special committee would hold meetings with MQM and JUI-F to agree them over withdrawal of their resolutions in the National Assembly (NA).
He added that the meeting also decided to resolve issues relating to PTI resignations within the boundaries of the Constitution.
