ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting to review the internal and external security situation on Friday reaffirmed its resolve to root out extremism and terrorism from the country.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif chaired the meeting here at the PM House, which was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Minister for Interior Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi, DG ISI Lt. General Rizwan Akhter and senior government officials.
A press release from PM’s Media Office said the meeting reviewed progress on the ongoing military operation and noted with satisfaction that the operation has made significant gains.
The participants strongly condemned the blast that targeted government officials in Peshawar on Wednesday.
