PM announces to cut electricity tariff for industries

Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif has announced to cut electricity tariff by Rs3 per unit for industries across the country from 1st January.

PM was addressing to awards distribution ceremony of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in Karachi.

He said government will not leave Karachi operation at any cost till the end of last terrorists in the metropolitan city. Government gained a lot of success in restoring peace in the city as compared to last six years.

The PM said Karachi operation was started back in 2013 after stake holders, political parties and business community came on the same page and it is still going on with the great success. DG Rangers Bilal Akbar, IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali and civil authorities must be given credit for the operation, he added.

Talking about Industrial development projects, Nawaz said, 25,000 MW electricity will be added to the system till 2025. 10,000 MW will be added to the system in 2017-2018, he added.

Three major challenges Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government have faced when it took over, he said.
