Plant indicates diamond existence

JOHANNESBURG: Geologist Stephen E. Haggerty of Florida International University has discovered a plant that indicate diamond presence under the soil. The plant is very helpful to detect the existence of diamonds.

The plant Pandanus Candelabrum grow in the soil where diamond could be present. The plant grow in kimberlite rich soil. The Pandanus plant mostly found on rocks in Liberia. There are many plants which indicate different minerals and metals but this is the first one that indicate diamonds.
