BAGHDAD: Three children and two women among 12 people killed in Iraq as a fighter jet mistakenly dropped bomb over Bagdad on Monday.
The Russian made Sukhoi fighter plane was returning to base when the accident happened. At least 25 people were wounded in the incident.
Military spokesman Brigadier General Saad Maan Ibrahim said that a technical failure caused the Sukhoi jet to drop the bomb which hit a number of houses in the Iraqi capital’s eastern neighbourhood of New Baghdad.
