PIA privatisation: Opposition, govt dialogue ends successfully

The dialogue between opposition lawmakers and the government over Pakistan International Airline (PIA) privatisation ended successfully as leader of the opposition Khursheed Shah ended the boycott of National Assembly session.

The Federal finance minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday gave briefing in a meeting between opposition and the government at NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s chamber.

In the meeting Dar told that PIA’s assets in America and Paris will not be sold while not a single employ will be terminated from his post.

In the privatisation process it will be ensured that whichever company buy the airline, must increase the number of jets, he added.

It was also decided that a National Assembly panel will look after the privatisation matter completely.

Dar also address opposition’s concerns and ensured that their suggestions will be followed for the process.
