LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation has taken serious note of a news item, attributed to its secretary, Shahbaz Ahmad, appearing in a section of the press, regarding congratulatory messages sent to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Hockey Association officials.
The PHF strongly denies that Shahbaz Ahmad sent any congratulatory message to Saeed Khan, Capt (rtd) Tariq Hayat and Zahir Shah for organising the PHF Inter-Club Competition’s rounds in KPK, said a spokesman for PHF, here on Tuesday.
The message also states that the PHF only recognises the provincial round of the PHF Inter Club competition held recently at the Mardan Sports Complex as its genuine event.
The federation is grateful to Mahmood Khan, KPK’s Minister for Sports & Culture, the chief guest at the final of the Provincial Inter Club round in Mardan, as well as KPK Olympic Association’s Vice President Wisal Khan, its Secretary General, Zulfiqar Butt and the provincial DG Sports for attending the event, he added.
