Rs1.35 per litre hiked in petrol prices

NOWSHERA: Defense Minister Pervez Khattak has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would announce Rs10 reduction in petrol prices in his address to the nation today.

Addressing a ceremony here on Monday, Pervez Khattak said that petrol is not getting cheaper internationally, but the government will give Rs250 billion, reducing the price of petrol, which will not be expensive for the next 4 months.

Khattak said that if the situation at global level is improved and petrol becomes cheaper, then petrol prices would decrease further.

The defence minister said that Rs5 per unit decrease in electricity price would also be announced.

Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had said that Imran Khan will have to pay the price for increase in electricity and petrol prices.

Chairing a meeting of PPP’s central executive committee, he said that the increase in prices of petroleum products is an economic massacre of the people.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto reviewed the reparations for the long march planned for February 27.

He said, on the occasion, that the PPP’s long march will get the people rid of inflation and economic crisis.
