Pervez Musharraf reaches Dubai

Former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has reached Dubai early Friday morning after his name was removed from Exit Control List (ECL) by Supreme Court on Thursday.

Former military ruler Musharraf flown by a private airline under the flight number of EK-611 which was supposed to fly at 3:55.

The interior minister said on Thursday the government had now formally allowed Pervez Musharraf to travel abroad to receive medical treatment.

On Thursday lawyers of General Musharraf filed a proper application and in the light of Supreme Court decision, the government has allowed him to go abroad for medical treatment,” Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali told a press conference on Thursday.

Nisar said Musharraf’s lawyers had given guarantees that he would return to Pakistan after six weeks and that he would appear in court for ongoing cases against him.
