RAWALPINDI: Advisor to Chief Minister on dengue control Dr Waseem Akram Friday urged the citizens to slaughter the animals in daytime to avoid Congo fever.
Addressing the session of a workshop of dengue female workers, he said the number of Congo fever cases was expected to increase. The Advisor said it was necessary to create public awareness to protect the people and the spread of the virus could be checked by adopting preventive measures. Congo Crimean Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is a lethal disease caused by Congo virus which is present in a tick, present on animals.
The Advisor regarding anti-dengue drive directed that anti-dengue regulations be fully implemented and stern action be taken against those failing to comply with the laws.
He asked the workers to create awareness among the house-wives to keep their houses clean and leaving no place wet or with stagnant water.
The Advisor also highlighted steps of Punjab government to control the spread of dengue larvae.
