FAISALABAD: Peanut production has reached to 112,000 tons in Pakistan. Peanuts cultivation area is about 108000 acre while 92 percent of the area is in Punjab, 7 percent in KP and one percent in Sindh.
Ministry of Agriculture spokesperson said that it was an important and beneficial crop of the country. He said that most of the peanut cultivation area comprised on arid zone. He said that it was the most important crop which produce edible oil. The spokes person said that Pakistan spent allot of foreign exchange to import edible oil. He urged farmers to cultivate peanuts.
