PCB’s cricket committee likely to recommend new ODI captain

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Cricket Committee is likely to suggest new captain for Pakistan’s One-day International (ODI) team in their meeting on August 2 at National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

According to reports, Pakistan’s current captain in all formats, Sarfaraz Ahmed might be retained to lead the Test side.

“Assigning the ODI captaincy to anyone from Muhammad Hafeez, Imad Wasim and Babar Azam will be discussed in the meeting,” APP citing its sources reported.

The PCB Cricket Committee will forward the meeting’s outcome to the board’s chairman Ehsan Mani.

The committee is chaired by PCB Managing Director Wasim Khan, and includes former men’s and women’s teams’ captains Wasim Akram, Misbah-ul-Haq and Urooj Mumtaz, as well as Zakir Khan (Director – International Cricket and Committee Secretary), Mudassar Nazar (Director – Academies) and Haroon Rashid (Director – Domestic Cricket).
