PCB nominates Zaher Abbas for ICC presidency

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) reportedly has finalised the name of former Test cricketer Zaheer Abbas for International Cricket Council (ICC) presidency.

Earlier, the board had shortlisted four names for ICC presidency following former chairman of the board Najam Sethi withdrawn his name from the nomination.

PCB had nominated Najma Sethi for ICC presidency which was accepted but on Monday due to some reason Najam withdrawn his name from the presidency.

According to reports, PCB has short listed four named for the post which includes former legendary cricketer Majid Khan, Asian Bradman Zaheer Abbas, former leg-spinner Intikhab Alam and former captain Rameez Raja.

It is pertinent to mention here that ICC’s President has to take charge of his post on July 1st.
