PCB announces Pakistan squad for U19 World Cup

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the squad for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under 19 World Cup to be held in Bangladesh from January 22 to February 14, 2016.

As per details, the board has nominated Gohar Hafeez of Lahore as the captain of the side who recently scored 289 runs at an average of 32.11 in the Inter-Region Under-19 One-Day tournament.

Zeeshan Malik of Rawalpindi will be his deputy.

Former first-class cricketer Mohammad Masroor was named as the head coach, while Zakir Khan was selected as the team manager.

Pakistan will also play warm-up matches against India and Nepal.

Squad: Gohar Hafeez (Lahore, captain), Zeeshan Malik (Rawalpindi, vice-captain, Umar Burki (FATA), Hasan Mohsin (Karachi), Muhammad Asad (Karachi), Saif Badar (Sialkot), Hasan Khan (Karachi), Salman Fayyaz (Lahore), Shadab Khan (Rawalpindi), Umair Masood (Rawalpindi), Saif Ali Ghauri (Karachi), Arfan Liaqat (Multan), Sameen Gul (FATA), Muhammad Arsal Shaikh (Islamabad) and Muhammad Ahmad Shafiq (Lahore).  Reserve Players: Rizwan Ali (Islamabad) and Ali Zaryab (Lahore).
