Islamabad High Court bars trial court from verdict in 190m pound case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Monday directed the authorities concerned to pay an money equal to the monthly salary of the missing person to his family till his recovery.

Hearing a case concerning to a citizen, who had returned home on leave from the UAE and gone missing in 2015, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah questioned the deputy attorney general that why the payment was not made to the victim family despite the court order issued on June 30.

To which, the deputy attorney general replied that a letter was written on July 16 to the mother of the missing person to submit the salary slip of her son.

The Chief Justice remarked that there was no need of salary slip after the court order. Ensure payment to the petitioner in the light of her statement under oath, he added.
