ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said that the parliament is already supervising the National Action Plan (NAP).

Responding to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s criticism over NAP, Pervaiz Rashid said that NAP is already being supervised by the parliament. “Why wasn’t NAP set up under former presidents Asif Ali Zardari and Pervez Musharraf? It was PML-N that formulated it and the party is proud of this achievement”, said Rashid.

Rashid said that NAP has an in-built mechanism, according to which parliament supervises it. He said that Bilawal only bemoaned his own problems.

He said that Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah personally admitted that 80% of the achievements were earned due to the NAP.

He said the international community has also supported it.

Talking about Model Town tragedy, the federal minister said that it is yet to be decided who was responsible for that massacre. He said that baseless propaganda against PML-N in this regard is unwarranted.

Information Minister added that any Islamic State (IS) member in Islamabad would not be able to survive the law of this country.
