Parliament should be taken into confidence over Modi visit: Khursheed Shah

SUKKUR: Leader of Opposition in National Assembly and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Khursheed Shah on Saturday demanded of the government to take the parliament into confidence over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprise visit to Pakistan.

He complained over Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s silence on Sindh issue. While talking to media in Sukkur, opposition leader said that the federal government should step in for the resolution of Sindh matters.

He said that extension in Rangers’ power in Karachi was not only the main issue. The continuous silence of PM Nawaz on giving powers to Sindh province may create difficulties for federation as well, he added.

Responding to a question, Khurshid Shah said that PM Modi’s visit to Lahore is a positive step towards peace process however, a scheduled meeting would have resulted in the discussion on various matters.

Shah advised the premier to play role in ensuring justice to the Sindh during his visit on December 28 or else it will raise chaos against him.
