Paramedical staff continue protest at Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital

KARACHI: For the fourth consecutive day, paramedical staff at the city’s Jinnah Hospital continued their protest on Thursday.

The protesting staff is seeking payment of health risk allowance and an increase in their salaries at par with other provinces.

As a result of the protest, out patient departments (OPDs) at the hospital remain shut on the fourth day and no patient can be operated on.

A spokesman for the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) said that the administration would review the salaries of postgraduate medical employees in other province and then increase the salaries and allowances of JPMC employees accordingly, after which the doctors called off the boycott.
