ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique on Thursday said that Panama Papers have no legal, moral ground and hidden patrons of the leaks want only to destabilize the region.

In a statement issued here, the minister said that Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah was respectable but his statement on the issue was contrary to facts.

Saad Rafique said that the sole target of the opposition’s Terms of Reference (TORs) of the opposition parties was Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his family.

“Prime Minister was the only ruler who presented himself and his family for accountability before the judiciary. Had Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) also set such an example,” he added.

The minister said that opposition parties should criticize or suggest the government on the national issues but not give their verdict.

Saad Rafique said that the government would try to find out any solution to the problem through dialogue despite the fact that the opposition’s TORs were biased and revengeful.
