LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq on Tuesday said that Panama Leaks exposed the corruption of current and former rulers of the country.
He said that the rulers had been looting the National treasury and investing in the offshore companies. The JI Ameer said that the rulers were imposing cruel taxes on the poverty stricken masses and shifting the money abroad to invest in the companies.
He said that if the capital invested in the offshore companies was faire, they were not needed to hide it.
Haq said that the corrupt rulers were not allegeable to ask the foreign businessmen to invest in Pakistan. He was of the view that the current rulers were the biggest hurdles towards the economic progress of the country.
He asked the rulers to clear their position and bring back the looted money into the country. Haq said that the rulers should become a role model for the masses.
“The Nation has united against the corruption and joined the ‘Corruption Free Pakistan’ campaign,” he said and added that the campaign will throw out the corrupt rulers from the corridors of powers.
