ISLAMABAD: A Supreme Court’s larger bench led by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa resumed hearing of the Panama Papers case after a two-day break on Monday.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s lawyer Naeem Bukhari presented evidence over beneficial ownership of the London Flats.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa remarked that if the property belonged to Qatar then there was no question of money transfer.

Speaking to journalists outside the Supreme Court, prior to the hearing, Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed said, “I have faith in Allah. I hope justice is served. The corrupt should be punished, otherwise there will be bloodshed and civil war.”

PTI’s counsel Naeem Bukhari said that overall Nawaz Sharif had received Rs81 crore as a gift from Hussain Nawaz and added that FBR should have inquired from the prime minister about the business of his son.

On this, Justice Gulzar remarked that there should not be any objection is the transitions were carried out through banking channel.

Bukhari said there is a possibility that the money was transferred abroad through ‘hundi’ and later brought back via legal channel.

Justice Azmat Saeed directed the PTI’s counsel to satisfy the court and not the media. While addressing Naeem Bukhari, Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that he had asked 16 questions but you have not answered the single one.

Are you catching fish under water or something else, Justice Azma Saeed asked the PTI counsel.
