LAHORE: After hockey, the participation of the national volleyball team in the upcoming Asian championship is doubtful as the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has no financial resources to meet the expenses of the tour.

The continental event is scheduled to held in Tehran, Iran from July 31 to Aug 8.

PVF chairman Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob said that although the federation had already written a letter to the IPC ministry to help it out, it had not received a positive response from it.

Yaqoob informed that 16 teams were participating in the championships and Pakistan had the potential to earn a prominent position.

He added that despite the fact that the PVF had followed the National Sports policy, it was yet to earn the affiliation of the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
