Pakistan’s first ever insect museum to be established at UAF

FAISALABAD: University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has decided to establish country’s first Insect Museum at its old campus building to preserve the bio-diversity system.

This was disclosed by Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan Vice Chancellor UAF while speaking at scholarly exchange program organized here on Monday by US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security (USPCAS-AFS).

Progressive Farmer Syed Faisal Shah, USPCAS Chief of Party Dr Bashir Ahmad, deans and directors attended the meeting.

A delegation of five-faculty members who have returned from University of California Davis under scholarly exchange programme USPCAS-AFS gave the presentation on the occasion.

Dr. Iqrar said that the museum would be meant for research and development activities and to display the spices of different insects.

He directed for setting up alfalfa working group to overcome shortage of fodder in the county.
