Pakistanis in China should not be evacuated as medical facilities not sufficient at home: envoy

BEIJING Pakistani students studying in China should not be evacuated from Wuhan as medical facilities are not sufficient in the country to treat the affected persons from the deadly virus.

This was stated by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Naghmana Hashmi while speaking to a Pakistani news channel on Sunday.

Earlier in the day, the special assistant to the prime minister on health had claimed that Pakistan was now capable to diagnose coronavirus.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Zafar Mirza in a message posted on Twitter said: “Alhamdolilah, as of today we have now capability of diagnosing coronarivus in Pakistan.”

The SAPM appreciated the National Institute of Health for its efforts in obtaining the chemical being used to diagnose the coronavirus.
