Pakistani troops prove mettle on PKOs across world: COAS

YAMOUSSOUKRO: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Friday paid rich tribute to Pakistani troops under United Nations (UN) flag saying that the contingents prove their mettle on peace keeping operations (PKOs) across the world.

While addressing to the Pakistan army contingents deployed in Ivory Coast under UN, he acknowledged the sacrifices of the troops and appreciated the professionalism and commitment to bring stability for a secure world.

He was of the view that Pakistan is committed to meet emerging challenges of peace keeping operations and continues to uphold UN and Pak flag fluttering high.

General Raheel said that Pakistan is proud of its historic, current role as major troops contributor, takes it as obligation to participate in international peace and security.

He said being one of leading troop contributors, Pakistan currently deployed on 6 UN missions, despite ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb

Ivory Coast President also paid rich tribute to the excellent performance of Pakistani troops.
