KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the die hard followers of the ideology of Pakistan have still been sacrificing themselves in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar on the fall of Dhaka. The seminar was organized by Mohiban-e-Watan Cell.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the India tilt governments of Pakistan have been trying to forget the split of Pakistan but the nation would always remember the day when both parts of the country were split.
He regretted that three million patriotic Bangladeshi speakers in Karachi have been living a miserable life of third class citizens. On the other hand, patriotic people in Bangladesh were still facing executions.
Engr. Naeem was of the view that 16 December will always be remembered as a black day in the history of Pakistan.
He said that it is Islam that connects hundreds of millions of people, living across the world. He was of the view that Muslims across the world need to get united so as to bring the crises against Muslims to an end.
Several JI leaders and human rights activists also addressed the seminar. They raised the point that Bengali speakers, residing in Karachi for more than 42 years, are citizens of which country, if they are not Pakistanis.
They demanded Pakistani nationality for Bangladeshis, residing in Pakistan.
