DUBAI: Pakistan will play second Twenty20 International match against West Indies on Saturday (today) at Dubai’s International Cricket Stadium after Green Shirts defeated world champions by nine wickets in the first match played on Friday.

Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed said he has full confidence in players who will put in a great effort to ensure victory in the second match also. The captain of T20 format said he is fully satisfied with team performance.

Taking took a career-best five for 14, left-arm spinner Imad Wasim ‘s spin assault routed the West Indies for a low score of 115 in 19.5 overs which Pakistan surpassed in 14.2 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

The victory gave Pakistan’s new T20 captain Sarfraz Ahmed two in two after taking over in his team’s nine wicket win over England at Manchester earlier this month.

The second match will also be played in Dubai on Saturday while the third is in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. Both teams will also play three one-day internationals and as many Tests.

Fast Bowler Muhammad Aamir joined the team late because of his wedding on Tuesday, likely to play second T20 against WIndies as he was rested from the side in first T20.

The visitors are handicapped by the absence of T20 superstars Chris Gayle, Andre Russell and Lendl Simmons but such capitulation was not expected from their batsman.

They have no injury worries at present but might want to give pace-bowler Kesrick Williams and batsman Rovman Powell a chance to play.
