Pakistan take on West Indies in the second One Day International (ODI) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday (2 October).

Pakistan’s resurgence in white ball cricket continued as they thrashed West Indies in the first ODI by 111 runs on 30 September. Babar Azam and Mohammad Nawaz were the stars with bat and ball, respectively.

Azam scored 120 runs off 131 balls, his maiden ODI century to help the Green Shirts post 284 in their 50-overs, while Mohammad Nawaz then took over, picking up four wickets for 42 runs off his 10 overs to bowl out West Indies for 175 runs.

Pakistan are expected to field the same XI for the second game as they look to maintain momentum and move up their opponents in the ICC ODI rankings.

West Indies’ struggles in 50-over cricket continued on Friday as they were suffered defeat by 111 runs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. While the bowlers still performed decently, it was the batting which let them down with none of the batsman – barring Marlon Samuels – able to put on runs on the board.
