WASHINGTON: Pakistan has urged the United Nations to work towards building a revitalized global partnership for a prosperous world.
Speaking at a ministerial level meeting marking United Nations Development Programme’s 50th anniversary, Pakistan’s chief delegate Ahsan Iqbal underscored the need for the developed countries to address development challenges in a world where prosperity and poverty still coexist.
He said Pakistan is making strides in tackling its social, economic and development challenges.
The Planning Minister said the country’s economic indicators are improving as well as energy and law and order situation.
Appreciating the development role of UNDP, Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan greatly valued its partnership with UNDP and other UN Agencies.
