Pakistan turns down Indian claim on Kashmir

UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan, in UN General Assembly (UNGA) meeting, has strongly rejected New Delhi claim to Kashmir as an integral part of India, saying it is an internationally recognized disputed territory.

At UNGA’s third Committee meeting, Pakistan diplomat Diyar Khan said that disputed nature of state was well established by several UN Security Council resolutions that call for a settlement of this issue through a free and impartial plebiscite.

About the Indian allegations of terrorism, he called it a motivated campaign to divert attention from the real issue, saying such tactics would not set aside the Kashmiri’s inalienable right to self-determination.
