KARACHI: Pakistan will launch mangos export from May 20th for the current season. Pakistan has set to export 100,000 tonnes mangoes in the current season.
Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Association Chairman Research and Development Wahid Ahmed said that Pakistan’s mango export was expected to increase by 10 percent. Pakistan has earned 48 million dollars foreign exchange by the export of 94,000 tonnes mangoes last year.
He said that mango production is estimated at 1.8 million tonnes this year. Climate hazards have affected the mango crop in upper Punjab. The crop is expected to decline by 30 to 33 percent in Punjab.
