Special Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs and National Security, Sartaj Aziz, on Saturday said that Pakistan will play its part to end tensions between the Saudi Arabia and Iran. He announced that Pakistani authorities were continuing probe into Pathankot incident.
Sartaj Aziz while addressing press conference in Islamabad said that Pakistan will not be affected by sectarian crisis on basis of Shiite and Sunni Muslims. He said that mediation process needed a proper time and Pakistan will definitely play its role at that time to end tensions between both countries.
Aziz urged not to transform the regional issue into sectarian crisis between Saudi Arabia and Iran. He clarified that Pakistan has prior responsibility to secure its interests in between the ongoing crisis between Iran and Saudi Arabia. He added that the tensions could benefit terrorists which must be ended at earliest.
While commenting over Pathankot incident, the advisor said that Pakistani authorities were holding investigation into the case. He said that there was no changes made in schedule of upcoming secretary-level dialogues between Pakistan and India.
Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Pervaiz Rasheed, also addressed the new conference, says that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had listened all issues raised by the Sindh Chief Minster Qaim Ali Shah during his visit to Islamabad. PM has tasked Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to remove all concerns of Sindh CM after visiting Karachi. He clarified that the Centre and provinces were efficiently working to secure interests of Pakistan.
